An AWC member since 1993, Mitzie Zerr has served in a variety of positions with the Springfield, Missouri, Professional Chapter for a number of years, currently as administrator and unofficial historian. She served as treasurer, before stepping into the role of Chair and now Immediate Past Chair for the AWC National Board.
Mitzie launched her own consulting business in 2018, Zerco Consulting. She oversees the management of 23 industrial/manufacturing businesses in Springfield. She previously had a career in the utility industry where she worked in marketing/communications and economic development for City Utilities.
AWC has recognized her contributions to the organization with the Chapter Star Award and Member of the Year. She was also named one of Springfield Business Journal’s Most Influential Woman.
Over the years, Zerr has served on, and chaired a number of boards, with an emphasis on education and community programs. These include Downtown Springfield Association, Urban Districts Alliance, Springfield Catholic Schools Development Board and the Ozarks Genealogical Society, where she has co-chaired their conference. She is also a member of DAR.
Mitzie enjoys kayaking with her husband on area rivers, reading and baking sweets. She recently joined a ladies’ line dance group that performs at area residential care facilities.
