The Association for Women in Communications Announces
the 2005 Clarion Awards Winners
Outstanding work by American Business Women's Association, American Journal of Nursing, Fast Company, Indianapolis Monthly, Lance Armstrong Foundation, SELF Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and TIME Magazine has earned 2005 Clarion awards. They are among the 118 winners in The Association for Women in Communications’ prestigious Clarion competition.
Clarion winners will accept their awards at an Oct. 22 dinner ceremony at the Holiday Inn in Lubbock, Texas, during AWC’s annual professional conference. The gala Matrix/Clarion Awards dinner features Clarion and other AWC award winners, and a special presentation of the AWC Matrix Award to notable Gloria Brown Anderson, Vice President, International and Editorial Development, The New York Times News Services Division.
In its 33rd year, the Clarion program honors excellence across all communication disciplines, including advertising & marketing, audiovisual productions, books & CDs, brochures, custom & special publications, education, film, fund development, magazines, major news event, newsletters, newspapers, on-line media, photography, graphics & design, communications, public relations, radio, and television.
Named for the medieval trumpet known for its clarity, the Clarion Awards symbolize excellence in clear, concise, communications. Clarion winners represent media companies large and small, leading corporations, small businesses, and nonprofit associations and institutions. Judges base their selections on substance, style, originality and achievement of objective, choosing one winner in each category.
