Sue Frank
Mayor, Raytown (Mo.)

Panelist, "Kansas City: A City of Women Leaders"

Elected Raytown’s first woman mayor in April 1999 for a four-year term, Sue Frank ran unopposed for re-election in 2003.

She was not entirely a stranger to the demands of political life, as her father, Bob Frank, was mayor of Raytown in the mid-1960s.

During her terms as mayor, she has focused on economic redevelopment of the central business district and the 350 highway corridor, citizen involvement, and improving Raytown’s image.

Frank is on the Mid-America Regional Council board of directors; co-chair of the Eastern Jackson County Betterment Council; co-chair of MARC First Suburbs Coalition; and board member of MARC Citizen Involvement Advisory Committee.

Before being elected mayor, Frank served on Raytown’s Board of Zoning Adjustment, and on Raytown’s Planning and Zoning Commission. She also is a former member of the Raytown Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee and the Raytown Charter Commission. She’s a former board member of the Raytown Crossroads Chamber of Commerce.

A graduate of the University of Missouri at Kansas City, she is a member of the American Association of University Women and the Raytown Historical Society. She also is a member of the Raytown YouthFriends.

A State Farm agent, she is on the Life Insurance Training Council, is a Certified Senior Adviser and a Registered Representative.
