Nancy Pickard is the award-winning author of 17 novels and dozens of short stories. Her most recent suspense novel, The Virgin of Small Plains, is set in the heart of Kansas, in the Flint Hills. Publisher's Weekly calls it a "mesmerizing suspense novel," and Library Journal calls it "an absorbing tale of love and deceit."

Nancy has written 10 books in the Jenny Cain mystery series, three books in the Marie Lightfoot series, and she wrote three books in a culinary mystery series that was originally created by Virginia Rich. She is also the co-author of the beloved nonfiction book about the writing life, 7 Steps on the Writer's Path. She has won the Agatha, Anthony, Macavity, and Shamus awards for her novels and short stories and she is a three-time Edgar Award Nominee.

She is a founding member and former president of Sisters In Crime, and a former board member of the Mystery Writers of America.

Nov. 3-5, she will be a keynote speaker at the 3rd Annual Great Manhattan Mystery Conclave in Manhattan, KS.

Pickard lives in Prairie Village, KS., where she is currently at work on her next suspense novel and several short stories.
