Panelist, "Kansas City: A City of Women Leaders"

Mayor Laura McConwell has served as the city of Mission’s mayor since March 6, 2002. Prior to being mayor, she served as a city council member. She has been involved in a variety of community service and business associations.

She is co-chair of the Johnson County Bioscience Task Force, co-chair of the Mid-America Regional Council's First Suburbs Coalition, and president-elect of the Kansas Mayors’ Association.

McConwell is a lifelong resident of the Greater Kansas City area. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
