The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) recognizes excellence among its
professional chapters through its annual Chapter Awards competition.
Awards are offered in eleven (11) areas related to chapter performance.
Chapters are encouraged to enter in multiple categories.
The AWC National Board serves as the judges for the competition.
Please keep in mind that chapter size is taken into account in evaluating the entries.
Chapters must be in good standing and compliant with AWC bylaws in order to be considered for awards.
For the next competition, materials submitted must be from the period between July 1 and June 30.
Applications must be received by AWC National Headquarters by June 30, 2013 of the same year.

AWARDS CATEGORIES:
*Overall Outstanding Chapter: Recognizes overall programming, overall progress, etc.
*Most Improved Chapter:
Recognizes a chapter that has been successful in revitalizing or reinventing themselves.
Student Chapter Programming:
Recognizes a chapter for student mentoring, student scholarship program, and any other programming or outreach to students.
Best Newsletter:
Recognizes a chapter for an outstanding print or online newsletter.
Best Website:Recognizes a chapter for an outstanding website.
*Most Innovative Membership Programming:
Recognizes a chapter for outstanding membership recruitment and retention.
Most Innovative Career Services Programming:
Recognizes a chapter for outstanding career services.
Best Awards/Recognition Event:
Recognizes a chapter for an outstanding Matrix or awards event.
Most Creative Program/Event that Advances the Status of Women and/or the Practice of Communications:
Includes:
- First Amendment Rights
- Freedom of Information
- Leadership
- Ethics
- Advancement of Women
- Gender Equity
- Community Service
- Outreach to Employers
- Programming to Executive Members or
- Efforts to Promote Diversity
Best Chapter Leadership Development Program:
Includes leadership retreats, strategic plans, launching an advisory committee or other method of building a strong chapter leadership.
Best Fundraising Program:
Includes either a specific campaign, an integrated sponsorship program or fundraising as it relates to student scholarships or chapter
programming.
* This category is divided into "Large Chapters-50 members or more" and Small Chapters-50 or fewer members
