Mission Statement

Enhance coordination of AWC's communications and marketing efforts to establish AWC as the 'go-to' professional organization for all matters relating to communications trends, education and networking.

Committee Objective

Increase the amount of publicity received relating to AWC's ongoing activities and its major initiatives such as the Clarion Awards, the National Conference, and Membership development and retention.

Aliah Davis-McHenry is president and founder of
Aliah Public Relations, a boutique public relations and events management firm specializing in small to medium sized businesses, nonprofit organizations, and associations. With ten years of experience in nonprofit management and public relations, Aliah is a strategic visionary who thrives on creating buzz, building brands, and optimizing results. Driven by creativity and relentless energy, Aliah is a public relations professional that delivers compelling and multifaceted solutions. A graduate of Rutgers University, Aliah is a new member of AWC and a member of the Public Relations Society of America. She is a speaker on social media for small businesses, mentorship, and entrepreneurship and is an accomplished writer, blogs on the official Aliah Public Relations blog, and guest blogs. At Aliah Public Relations

Jane Baxter Lynn is a professional marketing and communications practitioner with more than 20 years of international experience. Her expertise and successes include development and implementation of effective branding campaigns, strategic planning, and coalition building of diverse groups to achieve common goals. Baxter Lynn has lived and worked in South Africa, Belgium, and the United States, with responsibility for other parts of the world.  Now based in Austin, Texas, she has a strategic marketing and communications consulting practice, JBL Strategies. She is also executive director of the Central Texas-Balcones Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. An active member of AWC since 2006, she is actively involved in her local chapter and most recently served as Silent Auction chair for the chapter's 2009 Banner Brunch. Previous experience includes serving on the regional board of the Public Relations Institute of South Africa;  as past president of the International Association of Business Communicators' Belgian Chapter, where she was responsible for revitalizing its membership, and is a long time member of the International Public Relations Association, for whom she served as alternate representative to the United Nations, working with the UN's communications department to develop and present public relations workshops for the UN's non-government organizations program. Baxter Lynn also writes perspective pieces on public relations for various outlets and speaks on the subject whenever possible as she is passionate about contributing to the future of the communications profession.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carolyn Stevenson Carolyn Stevenson
Carolyn Stevenson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Master of Arts degree in Communications, and a Doctor of Education degree with an emphasis in Educational Leadership and Organizational Change. She has over 13 years teaching and administrative experience in higher education, including ten years experience in online education. She is currently a full-time faculty member for the Communication Department at Kaplan University and has been working for the university since 2004.

 

 

 

 

Cindy SwainCindy Faith Swain
Cindy Faith Swain is president of
PlanABrand and The Work Organizer and has over 20 years of executive business development, management, and administrative experience. For over 12 years, she managed worldwide business and publishing rights at Warner Bros. As Bugs Bunny's agent, Cindy struck deals with publishers around the world along with licensing other WB intellectual property such as Harry Potter, films, and TV shows. Since 2002, Cindy's been helping companies in both the administrative and business development capacity; from increasing productivity to bringing client properties and brand extensions to the worldwide community.
