About the webinar:
If you’re about to produce a video that is going to be online the process can be daunting.  There are questions every step of the way: what format should we shoot on?  Do we need HD?  How do we edit?  And of course, how do we deliver the finished product?

This webinar is designed for beginners who may have never produced a video before.  It will answer all of the questions above, plus a few more and any you come up with along the way.  You’ll know which choices are appropriate for your production and the best ways to distribute your product in the end.

Intended Audience:
Attendees do not need any video experience.  This session is designed for beginners who need answers about key questions surrounding video production and distribution online.

About the speaker:
Phil Vandiver is a college professor and award-winning media producer.  He produces countless video projects each year from commercials and promotional projects, to educational videos and interactive DVDs.  He has gathered video on 4 of the 7 continents, including an award-winning series on AIDS in Africa for the nationally syndicated television program AgDay.  He recently won two national Telly Awards for educational projects, not to mention many regional distinctions for his productions.

Phil is currently an Associate Professor of Digital Media Communication at Heartland Community College where he created the Digital Media Communication Department.  It has grown into the largest technology department on campus and continues to grow as he develops and implements digital media and Web development classes regularly.  He also manages the college’s Apple Training Center and is an Apple Certified Pro and Apple Certified Trainer.

He and his wife, Maria Henneberry, started their media production company after college and during the next 20 years, their client list has grown to include Eletrolux, Exelon, Pearson Education, Illinois State University, Amtrak, and caterpillar, to name a few.  Phil’s work is often nationally and internationally distributed.  Plus, he is frequently asked to consult and speak to various leaders and visionaries about media trends and technology.  Phil graduated from Illinois State University with a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Communication.

How does a webinar work?
After you register, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.  That e-mail will contain a link and log-in information.  Ten minutes prior to the start time on August 11, click the link (or paste the link in your browser) and follow the instructions.  Also included will be the phone number for dial-in audio.

On your computer screen, you will see the beginning of the live presentation.  At the start-time, via audio conference, you will hear the introducer and speaker.

Technical requirements:
If you have a PC, you need to be running on Windows XP or Vista.  Mac users should be running OSX.
Get Adobe Flash player icon Either system should have the latest version of the Adobe Flash® Player.
Adobe Acrobat Connect may attempt to install an update on your system, that is normal.
